Special Category for British Motorcycles
[edit]As part of the Motorcycling WikProject I am working though all the missing articles and stubs for British Bikes. To make things easier to sort out there is a special Category:British motorcycles Please add to any British motorcycle pages you find or create. It will also help to keep things organised if you use the Template:Infobox Motorcycle or add it where it is missing. I've linked the Category to the Commons Motorcycles of Britain so you could help with matching pics to articles or adding the missing images to the Commons. Telling the difference
[edit]For anyone other than a knowledgeable Vincent enthusiast, they would not notice the difference, but to be technically correct, the 2 images are of a Vincent Series 'D' Black Knight, not a Black Prince. Externally, both models are nearly identical, the most readily noticeable difference is in the emblem on the front and rear fenders/wheel covers, and on the "dashboard". The emblem consists of a Vincent scroll, with the model name (Black Knight or Black Prince) below the scroll, and a graphic just above the scroll. For the Black Knight, the graphic is an axe; for the Black Prince, the graphic is a helmet. The model name is not readable in the images provided, but the emblem is clearly visible, and is an axe. Although I do not consider myself to be the world's leading expert on Vincents, I joined the Vincent HRD Owners Club in 1959 and still belong today. In addition, I owned a Black prince for 37 years, so I think I can speak with a reasonable degree of authority. VincentHRD (talk) 17:35, 28 October 2009 (UTC)
- Well spotted - I was taken in by the name of the file should have looked more closely! The good news is that I've been able to write Vincent Black Knight - and I've added your note to save further confusion. Please will you check it for accuracy when you have a moment?
