help on Vincennes Bridge Co. vs. Vincennes Steel Co.

[edit]

Need perspective on relationship of Vincennes Bridge Company to Vincennes Steel Company. There are 2 NRHP-listed bridges attributed to the latter, which might just be an alternative name, not a different company. For the time being, I think it is best to list those in a See also section of this article, guessing that it can be clarified they are the same company, but not specifically asserting that. Can anyone find sources specifically addressing this question? --doncram 15:38, 13 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I think Vincennes Steel Company might be a later name of the same firm. From [1], "Wabash Steel, LLC, was formed on February 17, 2006, and purchased the assets of Vincennes Steel Corporation on March 1, 2006. Vincennes Steel Corporation had closed its doors after 107 years in the structural steel fabrication business. " From [2], "The Vincennes Bridge Company was incorporated in 1898 in Vincennes, Indiana.", which is about 107 years before. --doncram 15:46, 13 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I think you got it right -- http://www.arkansashighways.com/historic_bridge/HAER%20Documents/AR-25%20Cache%20River%20Bridge%20(01892).pdf agrees with you.--SarekOfVulcan (talk) 17:04, 13 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
