Article name change
[edit]Currently the article name is Village of La Jolla proposing the name changes to Village (La Jolla neighborhood) to avoid confusion with a similarly named article on WP La Jolla Village, San Diego. Jooojay (talk) 20:26, 29 June 2020 (UTC)
- I support the name change. Magnolia677 (talk) 10:30, 30 June 2020 (UTC)
- First of all, this is potentially controversial, so, for this to fly, you need to file a formal move proposal via WP:RM. Secondly, strong oppose per WP:COMMONNAME. Village of La Jolla is the most common name for the subject of this article. As confusing as it may sound, La Jolla Village is a separate and distinct neighborhood, and is never called “Village of La Jolla”. If anything, the proposed title is more ambiguous anyway, as both neighborhoods are arguably villages within La Jolla. —-В²C ☎ 06:55, 2 July 2020 (UTC)
- Just trying to have a discussion here, Village (La Jolla neighborhood) was a proposed name in 2015 during the AFD. It is clearly an issue still with editors (see recent edit history for further context). The proposed title follows the common pattern for neighborhoods found on Wikipedia, see WP:PARENDIS.
