Vilayat-e Faqih → Wilayat al-Faqih — Since it was moved by a banned user for no logical reason. "ولاية الفقيه" is and Arabic term not a person term and prenounce "Wilayat al-Faqih" not "Vilayat-e Faqih". Salam32 (talk) 12:02, 13 June 2009 (UTC)
- Oppose (pending further evidence, anyway). The term's various uses are used in Persian (velāyat-e faqih) contexts more often than Arabic (wilāyat al-faqih) ones. Would support a move to a better Persian transliteration, though. — AjaxSmack 16:05, 13 June 2009 (UTC)
- "ولاية الفقيه" is an Arabic form, "wilāyat al-faqih", but a Persian would pronounce it as "velāyat al-faqeh". The Persianized form with an ezafe instead of the Arabic for "the" would be "ولاية فقيه". Anthony Appleyard (talk) 05:35, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
- That's fine (although the Persian would be fa:ولایت فقیه). My point was about English usage and all of the valid links on the current disambiguation page link to topics dealing with Iran. Therefore it seems that a Persian version, e.g. velāyat-e faqeh would be more appropriate. However, I welcome arguments or evidence for the proposal here. — AjaxSmack 02:47, 22 June 2009 (UTC)
