Vijay Anand has been involved in Anti Corruption activities for more than 5 years now and strives hard to create a corrupt free society. And he is well know as an Anti Corruption Crusader. The following is a brief description about his work as a Anti Corruption Crusader.

Vijay Anand is Co-founder & President of 5th Pillar, a grassroots citizens’ coalition founded with a mission to "Encourage, Enable and Empower Every Citizen of India to Eliminate Corruption at All Levels of Society". The objective is to facilitate transparency, free flow of information and accountability in governance. He believes that corruption can be contained only by a multi-pronged and systemic approach over an extended period of time, crossing over at least a generation or two. His focus is on public education and prevention which are as important as law enforcement in dealing with this rampant phenomenon. He released on a large scale, the Zero Rupee Note (ZRN) as a Campaign Tool that acts as a visual symbol of unwillingness to pay bribe, a tool that can trigger debate on corruption, rather than allowing the topic to be shoved under the carpet. Since its release, Vijay has issued over 1.5 million copies of the Zero rupee note to the public and has seen many miracles happen, as it assumed the role of a Non-violent weapon of Non-cooperation against bribery. Thousands of citizens have handed out the ZRN and got their service or a certificate from the government office without the bribe but at the same instant of producing the note. Empowering citizens with information on governmental procedures was Vijay's next priority. Hence he launched the "FREEDOM from CORRUPTION" campaigns in schools and colleges to impregnate thoughts and values based on ethics and honesty in the young Indians' minds. He spoke about the freedom struggle of India, our nation's struggle in the world arena relating to growth, governance, poverty and corruption. Students were informed on the governmental fees and procedures to obtain driving licenses, passports, ration cards and various certificates; he urged them to take the honest route as opposed to 'beating the system'. He demonstrated to the younger generation, through documented success stories and simple creative techniques, about practical and viable alternatives to obtain such fundamental rights from government departments without fear of delay, denial or backlash.

Vijay conducted Right to Information Act (RTI) training and workshops in hundreds of schools and colleges to highlight the need for transparency in governance, the lack of which leads to corruption, nepotism and scandals. The RTI Act was used by numerous students and through them, their parents to seek appropriate information of departmental functioning, thereby tackling corruption or delayed service for want of bribes. Services were delivered to the beneficiaries of Vijay's training, simply by applying the RTI act as opposed to running from 'pillar to post' in their earlier days. Through the "FREEDOM from CORRUPTION" marathon campaign launched in Aug 2007 among the college youth, Vijay sensitized and empowered more than 100,000 students from 105 colleges in 40 days. He went on to touch more than 800 colleges and 500,000 students in 4 years and still continues with his crusade of building a Zero corrupt younger generation in India. Vijay's campaigns are sure to yield results simply because his first set of 500,000 youth who have undertook his training, have all jointly and publicly pledged in the presence of their dear friends and teachers that "I PROMISE TO NEITHER ACCEPT NOR GIVE BRIBE". His work has brought about remarkable milestones in creating a new generation of citizenry that will shun corruption in the days to come and consider it as a shameful, immoral and unethical act as opposed to the current day.

• Oppose. Article titles should be NPOV, as well as the content. Besides, TH should not be capitalized, there should be an endash, not a hyphen, and neither of the words "anti", "corruption" and "crusader" are proper nouns, and so should not be capitalized. Furthermore, this rationale would belong in the article rather than here (if it weren't for the obvious bias). Lastly, people are formally addressed by their lastname in wikipedia, not by their firstname. Not much right here. HandsomeFella (talk) 07:19, 30 September 2011 (UTC)
• Oppose. fails WP:CRITERIA particularly per naturalness, conciseness and consistancy, and WP:TITLEFORMAT per User:HandsomeFella. (politician) is most neutral and concise, (political activist) may be a closer disambiguater but possibly some would argue POVTITLE on that.--ClubOranje^T 11:17, 30 September 2011 (UTC)

• Rename to Vijay Anand (anti-corruption campaigner) or just Vijay Anand (campaigner). "politician" is incorrect becuase he appears not to have been elected. "crusader" is undesirable due to the context of the word in the minds of Muslims as linked to the medieval crusades - Christians v Muslims. The suffix is a disambiguator, and not intended as a detailed description, so that 5th Pillar does not need to be included. Peterkingiron (talk) 22:21, 2 October 2011 (UTC)
