This article was moved by User:FulmenTheFinn without discussion first. The rationale was "Finnish spelling should be used for what was then a Finnish city inhabited predominantly by Finns in the Grand Duchy of Finland". However, in this case, I am not sure why we would use "Viborg" for Swedish rule but "Viipuri" for Russian rule. Thoughts? Mellk (talk) 03:36, 11 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The massacre did not occur during Russian rule. It occurred during Finnish rule. FulmenTheFinn (talk) 10:31, 11 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You referred to the Grand Duchy of Finland in your page move. I take it you would prefer "Vyborg" for 1809 to 1917? Although if there is a WP:COMMONAME then we should use that instead. Mellk (talk) 10:47, 11 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
