Better documentation
[edit]This article must include a table documenting the implemented algorithms (H.262 (MPEG-2), H.264 (MPEG-4 AVC), H.265 (HEVC), etc.) including Profiles, Levels, and Max. resolution and frames per second. A good example is available for Intel's Quick Sync Video here: Intel_HD_and_Iris_Graphics#Hardware-accelerated_algorithms. User:ScotXWt@lk 14:59, 23 December 2017 (UTC)
- Another good example is Intel_Quick_Sync_Video#Hardware_decoding_and_encoding. The prerequisite is better documentation from AMD themselves! The https://www.x.org/wiki/RadeonFeature/#index10h2 is ok to cite, but why isn't there documentation on amd.com ? User:ScotXWt@lk 16:17, 14 February 2018 (UTC)
- Added. However, as there is only one generation of VCN so far it's a lonely table. As these get revised hopefully it will become more useful. Dbsseven (talk) 21:20, 14 February 2018 (UTC)
Difference between MPEG-4 and MPEG-4 AVC
[edit]- We have the articles MPEG-4 and H.264/MPEG-4 AVC.
- AFAIK what the ITU-T calls H.265, other organizations call High Efficiency Video Coding or MPEG-H Part 2.
My question is: are MPEG-4 and MPEG-4 AVC different algorithms, or is AVC simple and augmentation of the former? User:ScotXWt@lk 07:30, 28 June 2018 (UTC)
- oh, there also are MPEG-4 Part 2 and H.263... User:ScotXWt@lk 07:44, 28 June 2018 (UTC)
