Backward?

I think it is inherently POV to call a place 'backward.' If by this, the author meant "technologically unadvanced" or "socially conservative" or "old-fashioned" or something like that, let's change it to that. I don't think there's any way to interpret 'backward' any anything but a negative way.--Hraefen 21:09, 22 December 2005 (UTC)

Adopt an article: Vidarbha by gppande

As part of Wikipedia's policy to adopt an article I would like to adopt this page on Vidarbha. I have been in past few days gathering relevant information on this region of India from various websites of government of Maharashtra and India. For all the information added to this page by me legal and authenticate references have been provided. For any suggestions or comments leave a message on my talkpage http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Gppande .--User:gppande 14:45, 07 January 2008 (UTC)

Article enrichment done till now

Till now I am very pleased with the progress done on this article. I have gathered most of the statistical data from various websites of government of India, census board of India, Maharashtra govt., and district websites. The header, though needs elaboration, is now looking to take shape. I would be soon adding more demographic details like religion, schedule caste, schedule tribe population in the region. As always, help is needed and you are welcome.

Aspirant State

The Bill for "The Commission for the formation of Vidarbha, 2010" was introduced in Lok Sabha by Member of Parliament Hansraj Ahir and has the status: pending for discussion[1]. Hence, please do not remove the Aspirant State tag from the infobox without discussing it here. Pradyumna666 (talk) 06:41, 2 March 2014 (UTC)

Biased Article

The article does not site references to claims. It is biased towards why Vidarbha should be a separate state. The grammar and syntax in the article needs an overhaul.

yes I agree. specially the comments like " Though being culturally, politically and financially different from the rest of Maharashtra, the calls for a separate state come in picture only when the leaders from this region are sidelined by the other higher authorities in the govt. of Maharashtra." , seem to be popagandastic and having political overtones. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sandeshlad (talkcontribs) 07:51, 13 May 2014 (UTC)

Hello fellow Wikipedians,
