The Gorge and Gorge Water(s) should be split off
[edit]They're not part of the Inner Harbour, which begins below them; see Talk:The_Gorge#Other_Gorge_placenames_in_British_Columbia and note also Gorge Road, which I haven't listed on that dab page yet.Skookum1 (talk) 06:19, 24 June 2013 (UTC)
- The Gorge (Greater Victoria) or The Gorge (British Columbia) would seem to be the dabs for a splitoff article, Gorge Water probably doesn't need a dab, but it could be the same target article as a redirect (it's the pond-like body of water at the upper end of The Gorge proper. Rather than add them to the disambiguation talkpage here's some images in the Commons. and File:Indian canoe races at the gorge (HS85-10-11434).jpg. Gorge Road strikes me as a needed major thoroughfare/neighbourhood article within the Victoria city article, also.Skookum1 (talk) 09:37, 9 July 2013 (UTC)
- I spoke too soon, that Gorge Road link is to a community on the South Island of New Zealand; which begs the question of the dab, Gorge Road (Victoria) would seem to be it, but the undabbed "Victoria" might cause some protests, "Gorge Road (Victoria, British Columbia)" seems unnecessary; so far as I know it's wholly within the City of Victoria so "Greater Victoria" is not called for as it would be if it were partly in Saanich or another muni.Skookum1 (talk) 09:50, 9 July 2013 (UTC)
- Another good pic of the bridge File:Picturesque glimpse, Gorge Bridge, Victoria (HS85-10-14311).jpg.Skookum1 (talk) 18:04, 9 July 2013 (UTC)

James Bay vs Inner Harbour
[edit]As I understand it, James Bay was a small bay about where the Parliament Buildings are now; to get to the neighbourhood known as James Bay there was a small bridge....it's not synonymous with the Inner Harbour per se as in the following line from the article: "Construction of the current provincial Parliament Buildings overlooking the south side of James Bay (Inner Harbour) was started in 1893 ".Skookum1 (talk) 04:06, 11 July 2013 (UTC)
Weird, anti-Coho bias?
[edit]Just saw the photo of the Coho's smoke stack (why is it there to begin with???) and noticed the caption, which is rather polarizing:
"The stack of the MV Coho releasing air pollution in British Columbia at Victoria Harbour, 2005." Can this be changed to simply "MV Coho releasing smoke, Victoria Harbour, 2005"?
God knows why the picture of the smoke stack is even necessary or what it brings to the article. But the caption is very strange. Are we going to start captioning every photo of cars wherever they appear in Wikepedia as "Internal combustion engines releasing air pollution in [insert locale here]"?

The car float
[edit]At one time there was a car float from the Esquimalt and Nanaimo Railway to Ogden Point. Can we find some info? Peter Horn User talk 00:43, 26 April 2021 (UTC) Peter Horn User talk 00:53, 26 April 2021 (UTC)
