Saint?
[edit]Is he the same as St Victor "at Utica, in Africa"? Roman Martyrology and St Victor of Vita? http://www.catholic.org/saints/saint.php?saint_id=1972? (both Aug 23) --Richardson mcphillips (talk) 02:09, 23 August 2017 (UTC)
Additions
[edit]Planning on adding some content. Specifically on Victor's spelling of Arians and Huneric, his time in Carthage and access to the see of Carthage's archives, and his position when writing the text. I will also add something on the date of his work and when it was written. YetAnotherWikipedian (talk) 12:46, 3 April 2018 (UTC)
Bishop of Vita?
[edit]It is unclear whether Victor was the bishop of Vita or the bishop of another locality who happened to be from Vita. Several historians (Merrills, Miles, Heather and Shanzer)have emphasised this uncertainty and suggested that during the persecution he was likely to have been a junior member of the church.
