[edit]Made some revisions under the mistaken belief that this was the article on the current Earl and not his father. Yes, as he renounced the title the 10th Earl ought to be known as V. Montagu. --Counter-revolutionary 09:10, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
Homosexual?
[edit]- Montagu was homosexual. After he and Maud divorced in 1958, she left him for a female companion. Their youngest son, therapist Robert Montagu, has since alleged that his father sexually abused him on an almost daily basis from the ages of seven to eleven. In addition to his son's allegations of child sexual abuse, in 2015, Freedom of Information requests revealed that Victor Montagu "was let off with a caution by police and the director of public prosecutions in 1972 for indecently assaulting a boy for a duration of nearly two years".
These cases seem to point squarely to him being a pedophile and an incestuous one at that, but not a homosexual. -- Jack of Oz [pleasantries] 06:25, 22 February 2022 (UTC)
