Victor Dave was one of the founder members of the Socialist League in 1885, and had various roles in that organization: Secretary for European Contacts, French tutor for party members, lecturer, and eventually replacement for Eleanor Marx-Aveling as editor for International Notes in Commonweal, the party paper. He continued to do this till part way through 1890. This suggests that if he did go back to Paris in 1887 as the article says, it was a temporary move.
The problem with all this is I have only primary sources (the Commonweal is available online on archive.org and by issue on marxists.org). His roles are mentioned in the Conference proceedings in Commonweal, his articles are signed Victor Dave or just V.D. As I understand it (not used wikipedia for a while) I need to find a secondary source to justify entering this information, so I will just leave it here for now.
