He isn't in Judgement at Nuremberg
[edit]It says he has an uncredited appearance in this film, which I believe is just copied from IMDb, but I watched this film actively looking for him and I am quite positive he's not in it. You can see here someone who agrees with me, including stills: https://victorbuono.tumblr.com/post/150902207702/imdb-currently-lists-victor-buono-in-an-uncredited 121.200.5.4 (talk) 04:54, 28 June 2022 (UTC)
- Someone removed the reference. IMDb sometimes has unique information from crew members, but there is no check on its reliability. WP is required to be based on reliable references, not consensus or opinion. David Spector (talk) 13:33, 28 June 2022 (UTC)
- Yeah, that's why I'm leaving a comment on the talk page, in the thought that someone might provide other references. Sometimes people visit these pages and they're knowledgeable and well-versed on a subject and are just a general all-around help. It's really delightful when you see it. I'm thinking that if you and I wait long enough a person like that might show up. --121.200.5.4 (talk) 03:00, 4 July 2022 (UTC)
- That is the right thing to do. We're not allowed to edit WP based on personal evidence, knowledge, or research. If someone finds a reliable reference that he was indeed in the movie, then an edit can be done. Doing a Web search, I found a brief reference at https://www.cinemaclock.com/movies/judgement-at-nuremberg-1961 and some other places, but none of these are reliable sources; they could have copied from IMDb or even from WP. It think WP prefers erring on the side of being trustworthy, leaving other sources to provide less reliable but perhaps more detailed information. I think this policy helps WP to be able to welcome everyone to edit its pages, and not just experts. David Spector (talk) 11:34, 4 July 2022 (UTC)
