Plot
[edit]I just copied what was on the fix, someone else can be a bit more thorough. Gwag 19:49, August 11th 2006 (EST)
trivia
[edit]How do you guys know trivia for this episode when it hasn't even aired yet? Or has it?
- http://www.adultswim.com, you can view it on the FIX online if you live in the accepted areas -th1rt3en 02:46, 12 August 2006 (UTC)
Goofs
[edit]The hair stroking thing isn't a goof, it's a joke. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.102.129.202 (talk) 07:26, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
I... don't think this is a goof, rather, it's just that the episodes have been aired out of order. (The same thing happened last season, remember?) In fact, I think Doc Hammer himself inadvertantly addressed this exact issue on his myspace, where he answers an imaginary question: "The episode was run out of order. Therefore, she had never met him before the incident you cited." [1] --Hazelfo
- My reconcilatory nature/fanwankery proclaims she COULD have just forgotten them, haha. Lord knows I've done the same with some people...-Umbric Man 12th August 1:28 A.M.
- I too think it's because they switched up the episode airings, but that still makes it a goof nonetheless. They've done it with other episodes as well. -th1rt3en 05:34, 12 August 2006 (UTC)
I believe one of the goofs is wrong, the one about Triana knowing who Dr. Girlfriend was even though Dean didn't in "Hate Floats." Dean didn't know who Dr. Girlfriend was because he had just been "reborn" in a recent episode, and has no memories of her. --Dragonstrider 05:08, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
- Two things: 1) the memories are the same for Hank and Dean up until the day they died (portions were probably altered by Dr. Venture). 2) Just because Triana hasn't met Dr. Girlfriend (on screen) doesn't mean she wouldn't know about her. #'s 21 and 24 know of Billy but never met him. -th1rt3en 05:13, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
Arm
[edit]Doc's arm was put back on. Its pretty obvious from the bandages. Gwag 18:31, 12 August 2006 (EST)
- I must have blinked while watching the episode. They fooled me with the close-up of Billy's hand while he talked to Venture, and I assumed it was Venture's arm. - DynSkeet * Talk 17:29, 13 August 2006 (UTC)
I really don't think Quizboy "brushed off" the question regarding his mechanical limb. I think he really doesn't know. --Hazelfo 04:23, 13 August 2006 (UTC)
- How could you not know how you lost an arm? I'd guessed that it did have something to do with Phantom Limb and he didn't want to talk about it. - DynSkeet * Talk 17:23, 13 August 2006 (UTC)
- It would be easiest just to say that "he claimed not to remember", since that would be a fairly neutral statement. BlessCernunnos
- Are we NOT talking about SUPER SCIENCE here? Anything is possible. My appendix was removed once. I don't know how that happened. --Hazelfo 04:14, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, but you aren't a hydrocephalic boy genius neurogeneticist. (Are you?) - DynSkeet * Talk 12:15, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
- No, but I'm close enough. --Hazelfo 06:35, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, but you aren't a hydrocephalic boy genius neurogeneticist. (Are you?) - DynSkeet * Talk 12:15, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
Plot Length.
[edit]Okay, I know we've agreed to make the plot summaries more compact, but this one felt a bit too short. I've added in a bit more to the plot, and plan to once I can snag the second airing, but if someone wants to reorganize/reformat it to make it read better now (and add more-I've never been picky on plot length) I'd be thankful for it. -Umbric Man 11:50 P.M. 13th August 2006
- The version I did was only intended to be a starting point. The current version is a little more detailed than I'd prefer, but ah well. - DynSkeet * Talk 12:42, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
Hank's version of the story
[edit]Okay, I can't get to the website and can't watch the recorded episode right now. Could someone please definitively verify that Hank specifically mentions Phantom Limb eating Billy's hand? I would have sworn he just said "some kid." - DynSkeet * Talk 12:17, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
- After he says PL cut off some kids hand and ate it he says to Dean "it was the same guy who operated on your balls". -Wiseblood79 17:02, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
Monarch's Story
[edit]The Monarch's version of the story claims that Phantom Limb can "mess up a guy just by touching him", around which time we get a close-up on Billy, who is frozen in terror. What I got out of that, was that Phantom Limb somehow tool Billy's hand after the muscle thing screwed him up. The Monarch may not have said anything about Billy losing his hand, but it sounds like he didn't know Billy was the roommate to begin with... Seriously, I'm the only one who noticed? I just don't think that should be rued out automatically, is all. - Rigel7Freddy 19:29, 14 August 2006.
- Hmm..That does make sense, The monarch said Phantom Limb "got some kid to build him [the machine]" -th1rt3en 20:06, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
- Why didn't Monarch say something like "he got pissed and ripped the kid's hand off"? AFAIK, Limb's power kills people, not just burns their hands off. In any case, it's fairly speculative... if you add it to the article, be sure to point out that it isn't explicitly shown or stated. - DynSkeet * Talk 20:32, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
- I know about the Killer Hand Thing, but who's to say that's what it always did? I wasn't even going to add it to the article; I just think it's equally speculative to say Billy didn't lose his hand in that one. - Rigel7Freddy 15:29, 15 August, 2006 (UTC)
- As a compromise, I'll change the wording so that it doesn't say that Billy doesn't lose his hand. - DynSkeet * Talk 16:03, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
Rembrandt
[edit]"Rembrandt's birthday being July 15, 1606, this episode premiered almost exactly a month after his 400th birthday."
I'm sorry, is this in any way relevant or worthwhile? Doesn't look like it to me. -CWD 16:18, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
- It's somewhat coincidental in that Phantom Limb was trying to sell a stolen Rembrandt, but I doubt it was intentional in any way. - DynSkeet * Talk 16:19, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
- I understand the Rembrandt connection, but...this is just really pointless and contrived IMO. -CWD 04:08, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
- Agreed. Only the vaguest connection to the episode. -DynSkeet (Talk) 12:04, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
Jollyrancher82 at Livejournal
[edit]I just added a mention of jollyrancher82 at Livejournal. It appears to be a fan created page, per the discussion here (specifically, the fact that the user needed to do a screen capture to get the artwork for the icon). If anyone thinks I need to add the basis of my assumption in the article, let me know. Otherwise, I think it stands as is. --KNHaw 04:40, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Why Are You Naked.png
[edit]Image:Why Are You Naked.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
