Budget
[edit]I see claims that the budget for the film is $5.7 million. That is how much money they raised on Kickstarter, but it is neither true that that all goes to the film, nor can we assume that the money coming from the campaign is the only money being spent. Anyone got better sourcing on budget? -Nat Gertler (talk) 19:42, 29 June 2013 (UTC)
- Kickstarter keeps 5% and payment processing is another 3–5%, so that's ~9% off the top. Then a portion of almost every pledge went towards merchandise (posters, t-shirts, DVDs/Blu-rays, etc.) So my guesstimate is that they probably had half the total pledged to spend on film production. Add to that that once the film was officially green-lit, Warner Brothers probably paid some of the production and/or marketing costs.
- So absent an authoritative source, all we should say is that the kickstarter raised $5.7 million which was spent on 1) Kickstarter fees, 2) promised merchandise, and 3) film production.

There's also the question of the possibly-misleading box office take, due to AMC (and maybe others) being paid to show the film. Plus, the simultaneous theater and digital release means that the digital take is of interest. Lastly, was it a financial success, and by how much? Hopefully someone will publish this info. I wonder if the movie would have been more successful with some "normal" marketing. #11 isn't bad, but the only advertising I saw is what I came across while reading about it.
