[edit]Surely the last line of the first paragraph should be 'total anthology count' or ... well, surely he published more than 53 poems! EwanHP (talk) 19:42, 5 December 2014 (UTC)EwanHP

[edit]I can't independently verify the addition of The Fair (1944). Charles Matthews 20:37, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
Quotes
[edit]The extended range of quotes here is against basic article style. A small number of quotes to support a discussion would be better. Charles Matthews (talk) 19:27, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
Yes, OK,sorry got a bit carried away...feel free to trim them back! thanks Peter morrell 19:50, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
Works
[edit]I think it would be good to divide the Works, which is a very long list, into sections according to type eg Poems, Novels, etc. I'd do it except that some titles in the list aren't described. I've also added a couple of pieces of info from the SMH obituary I have, but unfortunately the person who gave it to me didn't include the date.Sterry2607 (talk) 09:06, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
Also, the works mentioned need confirmation as at least one of the titles was not written by Vernon Scannell. This is particularly true in the case of "Half Past Two" which I am sure was written by U.A. Fanthrope. --~hb2007 18:49, 8 February 2011 (UTC)
POV content removed
[edit]I just removed some unduly favorable material and reworked sentences dealing with his memoir. Might we also be interested in adding more material regarding his military career?
