Article prep

[edit]

I'd been preparing a rather lengthy Verbum Dei High School article in this sandbox for eventual creation, but now that Dysepsion has created the article — drat! — I've begun moving content into it from that sandbox. I'm still using that sandbox to store other potential content for the article, and I invite all potential contributors to participate in it. -User:JohnAlbertRigali 23:54, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Recommend you source your edits with citations. Please only add notable alumni with wikilinks. Ronbo76 00:04, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ronbo76, I'm a Verbum Dei employee. All of the content that I've contributed came to me from co-workers via word of mouth, scribbled notes and email. How do I cite those sources? I've learned that Verbum Dei's official citeable sources can only be found by "digging deeply" on campus, and I'm now too busy for such digging. What do you recommend? -User:JohnAlbertRigali 02:05, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ah yes, "digging deeply" on campus. Thats very reliable. Or in other words, it's original research and you know Wikipedia's Policy on that. Starting citing. Oh BTW: Hello Mr. Rigali, we don't really speak enough on campus, but thats off-topic so..-Jack 03:47, 04 September 2007 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 199.43.32.99 (talk)

For the record, I was *not* aware of Wikipedia's policy on original research in 2007, but now I am. I parted ways with the Verb on June 30, 2008, so I've eliminated its article as a project on my "to-do" list. I'll continue to maintain the aforementioned sandbox for anyone else that wants to tackle the content therein. -JohnAlbertRigali (talk) 16:13, 10 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:VDHScrest.gif

[edit]

Image:VDHScrest.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Notable people

[edit]

All additions to the lists of 'notable people' should indicate why they are important, include a verifiable reliable source which anyone can use to confirm that the individual is notable/significant ,and attended Verbum Dei. Without looking deeper, currently none of the entries would survive a review and could be removed at any time. – Zedla (talk) 04:52, 8 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Tagging

[edit]

I've removed the general opening tags from seven years ago, and propose that "citation needed" tags be used when statements still seem excessive or questionable. This is the way most articles appear, without gross tags which tend to alienate readers. Ordinary facts can be appreciated even if they are not minutely verifiable from newspaper or book coverage.Jzsj (talk) 14:32, 8 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
