Origin of name

[edit]

"Interestingly, the name Vera comes from the Russian word for 'faith'."

This seems dubious to me. Most references I see to "ver..." in western languages originate from a Latin root, indicating truth. --Davidstrauss 08:18, 11 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What the article says is true (according to Google Translate) but I would assume that it came from the Latin. This site gives it both ways: —Preceding unsigned comment added by John Wormell (talkcontribs) 08:14, 3 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bass

[edit]

This track does in fact have a bass line. There is no information about it in the article. The pink floyd encyclopedia I think states that it is played by David Gilmour. If so, it should be included in the article. 80.213.253.106 (talk) 06:08, 29 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Vera Lynn response

[edit]

Has anyone come across any articles or interviews in which Vera Lynn gives her response/thoughts on the song "Vera" or the reference to her and her work in The Wall (album and film)? — al-Shimoni (talk) 11:15, 7 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
