This whole article reads like it was cut-and-pasted (based on consistent prose style, and a lack of wikilinks and sources), from c. 1996 story (based on the present tense sense of the 1990s stuff), and written as a puff piece (either from a trade journal or a company history) based on all the old-time flowery business writing. So I've been hacking away at the prose-bloat, but am reluctant to cut it all because a cut-and-pasting feel implies there was a half-decent source out there somewhere. The early years may never get fully sourced, but if someone has access to High Beam (I think mine went stale) or the Wikilibrary maybe we can find the original old source from the Lexis-Nexis era?
