I'm afraid that I am going to have to fail this article at this time, as I would argue that it meets quickfail criterion 5. In the same way it has been deemed that articles about upcoming albums and films cannot be featured articles, this article cannot be considered complete while, to quote the article itself, "ongoing developments and announcements [are] taking place". The article should and will change greatly, and so it's not something that should be promoted at this time; in fact, you'd probably need to wait until the games have kicked off, or even finished. In addition, I'm not sure that this would ever be appropriate for good article candidates: it's more of a list, and so would be suited to featured list candidates, which has no "good" level. There are further general problems:

  • The use of non-free content in lists like this is not at all acceptable, and so the three non-free images should be removed immediately.
  • The tables have not been completely filled in; details of the Parapan American Games are almost entirely lacking, and the ref columns are looking very bare.
  • The writing, in places, is very poor: "This means they are venue will only host one sport", "The 2015 Games use", "The Mississauga venue cluster will be held at one single venue the Combative Centre. The four combative sports of judo, karate, taekwondo and wrestling."
  • The sourcing isn't ideal; there seem to be a lot of unwarranted italics in the footnotes, and is a campus newspaper really the best you can find?
  • This article seems to be based on the London 2012 article, which is inadvisable; that's not a great article. This one is featured, so that may be a better one.

I hope this helps. J Milburn (talk) 19:46, 9 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
