Plagiarism
[edit]The following paragraph is pasted by me into this article from Reddy article cleanup. I guess it was posted by some anon author there. I later realised that this is a total lift from here and the text is copyrighted too. Hence I completely removed it --Vyzasatya 18:43, 25 November 2005 (UTC)
Yogi Vemana's real Name is Gona Vema Buddha Reddy) with vishwa-da-abhi-rama vinura vema as his signature. Vemana was born in 1820 in a rich family in the district of Godavari. His elder brother was King Anu Vema Reddy. Vemana was a Reddy by caste.Narsamma was the wife of King Anu Vema Reddy. She was the first Guru of Vemana. She was very chaste, virtuous, kind, charitable and truthful. She treated Vemana with intense affection. Vemana regarded her as his mother. Vemana kept a dancing girl and spent the whole of his time in her house. It was Narsamma who saved Vemana from the clutches of the prostitute. Therefore she became his first Guru. Vemana wasted his time. He was idle. He visited one morning the State jeweler’s shop where Abhirama was preparing the State jewels. Vemana supervised the work of Abhirama. He continued this sort of work for some days. He was in the shop throughout the day and asked explanation for Abhirama’s late attendance. Abhirama said, "My lord, I have to take bath in the early morning and perform prayer, worship and meditation. Therefore I humbly beg that you will kindly excuse my later attendance". Vemana replied, "I cannot tolerate this on any account. Finish your duties earlier and attend the shop at 6 a.m. I cannot excuse delay hereafter under any circumstance"

Vemana dress
[edit]It is recently added that "Vemana is often portrayed in the nude". I believe he wears small lion cloth. It would also be nice to add a picture from any of the text book covers or some gov website. Mlpkr 19:44, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
- I don't think he wears anything. Maybe to avoid offending young viewers the private parts may be shown behind plants leaves or something like that. I don't know the story behind why he is displayed naked. Idleguy 04:39, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
Vemana poems copyrights etc.
[edit]Vemana's poems are colloq. proverbs in Telugu and I wrote few of them from memory. I have written the meanings myself some months back. User:Pranathi had replaced them with more compact sentences recently. I have no clue whether he wrote himself or copied from somewhere. Anyways, the peoms and meanings written by Charles_Philip_Brown are also in public domain. See http://www.sacred-texts.com/hin/vov/vov00.htm mlpkr 17:30, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
I wrote them myself. It was too long ago to be completely sure, but I don't recall copying them from anywhere.. --Pranathi 18:05, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
Achala Yoga
[edit]I am going to delete achala yoga and vedas etc. stuff from this. This looks like original research to me. mlpkr (talk) 09:10, 25 December 2007 (UTC) Many people don't know what Vemana's Siddhanta is. You have to read Tripuraneni's books on Vemana. He researched for several years and wrote many books. As I have researched for several years, I found Vemanas as a Achala Siddhanthi. He didn't belong to any religion of India. His yoga is Achala Yoga. And his Siddhanta is above of all philosophical systems of India. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.114.34.77 (talk) 23:13, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
