Inscription-dubious tags
[edit]According to the given photo this inscription can be read as follows,
- Parumaka Natakasha Mathaya Lene
- But according to the current version the translation of this inscription is Parumaka Naavika Shamathaya Leno. Here that is wrong as this inscription does not contain the letter for Vi pronounce (in the Navika word). The letter c is used for denote Ta not Vi. Also the inscription is end as Lene not as Leno. The word Parumaka means Chief (Pramuka in Sinhalese) and Lene means the Cave. The script + denote the Ka which is mostly found in the inscriptions belonged to the BC era (See the table for evolution of the Sinhala scripts). I checked the given references but they are seemed to be unreliable. However I couldn't find a reliable source to change this wrong reading and interpretation. Therefore I put the dubious tag to the page. --L Manju (talk) 13:30, 18 April 2018 (UTC)

- Give us valid resources/refs that this reading and interpretation are correct. Because the given resources are apparently unreliable. I read this inscription and gave points why this is wrong. {The meaning of this inscription is - The cave of the mother of Chief Nataka (Parumaka = Chief, Natakasha = A name - Nataka, Mathaya = Mother, Lene = the cave). It doesn't mean the current interpretation - Ship caption Shamathaya, who has the title Parumaka, given this rock} Now I am trying to find out a reliable publication to change the content of this article. As the creator of this article I would like to ask you to provide us the registration number of this inscription, language of this inscription as well as the name of the scholar who has interpreted this. (Information taken from unreliable sources are challenged.) --L Manju (talk) 16:01, 18 April 2018 (UTC)
