Suhail

[edit]

I have deleted

λ Velorum is also called Suhail, Arabic for lucky. The constellation Vela is in the west sky.

"West sky" is meaningless - wait twelve hours and the sky shifts by 180 degrees. The Right Ascention is given in the Constellation info box.

"Suhail" is not Arabic for "lucky." It just means "star" (with the implication of brightness). Suhail is most often applied to Canopus. (α and β Aquarii, Sa'adalmelik and Sa'adalsuud, "Luck of the King" and "Luck of the Luckiest," demonstrate that "Sa'ad" is Arabic for "luck.")

Pyxis was not part of Argo

[edit]

The sources that claim Pyxis to have been a subdivision of Argo are not 'authorities', and are wrong. Wagman, who is an authority, is quite clear on the matter. The other related entries in Wikipedia get it right. 79.77.212.76 (talk) 01:27, 23 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
