Death
[edit]It appears that Jones died yesterday, but the news awaits a reliable reference. Charles Matthews (talk) 05:48, 8 September 2020 (UTC)
This was reported on Reddit, clearly not a reputable source, but it relays an email sent out by Vanderbilt U. A different source is an obit here, from his old high school. 110.142.52.31 (talk) 10:36, 8 September 2020 (UTC)
No change at https://as.vanderbilt.edu/math/bio/?who=vaughan-jones. Charles Matthews (talk) 10:46, 8 September 2020 (UTC)
The currently listed date of death (Sept. 8) is incorrect, the citation is to a New Zealand source but he died in Nashville TN, so the international date line caused the confusion. That said, I don't know whether it should be changed to Sept. 7 or Sept. 6, so I haven't edited myself.--Njsnyder (talk) 14:59, 8 September 2020 (UTC)
Given an IP edit-warring, I have reported the issue at WP:BLPN. Charles Matthews (talk) 18:04, 8 September 2020 (UTC)

There's also a newspaper obituary now, it doesn't have a date but the lms source should be enough for the date. Njsnyder (talk) 21:37, 8 September 2020 (UTC)
