Potential COI
[edit]A major contributor to this article, User:Vaughangrylls (edits), appears to be the subject of it, and has only contributed to this one article, so I'm tagging it as COI. Equally the majority of the article is covered by only a dozen or so references (compared to 44 overall), with 25% of them coming in the very last section, which is just a list. I'm not familiar with the art scene, but I'm hoping someone interested in the subject (who isn't the subject) can sort this out! Thanks BulbaThor (talk) 10:05, 23 May 2011 (UTC)
Transparent self-publicity, not of encyclopaedic interest
[edit]Not only is almost all of the article about Vaughan Grylls written by user Vaughan Grylls, but:
- - most of it comes from his own web site, mostly verbatim;
- - it is hard to find much of substance about him, beyond post-art-school 'novelty art'.
This is transparently a self-publicity article and has little or nothing of note warranting a place in an encyclopaedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.160.87.38 (talk) 09:11, 16 November 2011 (UTC)
Rermoved COI-tag
[edit]I removed the {{COI}} tag, as the text has been rewritten by a non-COI editor. Asav (talk) 10:15, 17 June 2011 (UTC)
- The text has had minor edits done to it by an editor with two edits in five years, both on this article. Both their user page and talk page are solely concerned with editing this article. I'm not convinced that is satisfactory, as the bulk of the article has still been contributed by the subject of it, and it's still full of unreferenced claims like 'is perhaps best known' and 'a pioneer of Conceptual Art', and the section on Hockney is massively POV - 'Hockney's long-established fame and formidable media machine' for example. I'm putting the tag back up, if nobody is willing to re-write and reference to an acceptable standard I'll just remove any information that should be sourced. Updates, April 2018
[edit]I added some references and removed some unsourced info from the article, and also gave a once-over for neutral language. I think the article is now written in a more encyclopedic tone so I removed some of the tags. Feel free to discuss. Duck Anvil (talk) 18:22, 30 April 2018 (UTC)
