[edit]This section of text appeared today. I haven't seen recent indications that Variraptor and Pyroraptor are the same things (V in particular is problematic, as Dinosaur Mailing List discussions have questioned its identity as a dromaeosaurid as well as its validity). The last sentence at any rate does not make sense.
cut text:
Variraptor seems to have been a close relative of Pyroraptor olympius which, interestingly, also lived in France. Some paleontologists have suggested that Pyroraptor and Variraptor are the same, with Variraptor having precedence, but Pyroraptor, having been on Discovery Channel's Dinosaur Planet and numerous other recreations of prehistoric Europe, is more famous than its relative. Varriraptor and Pyroraptor probably aren't the same, considering the fact that if they were, only one dromaeosaur would ever have lived in Europe.

- At the very least, the last sentence is incorrect: I doubt anyone has stated that the lack of current evidence of a second genus means that "only one dromaeosaur would ever have lived" there. Firsfron of Ronchester 19:40, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
