Patronymic name or Western-style name?

[edit]

I assumed, based on the general style in the sources, that Vanessa Tsehaye prefers to follow the {{patronymic name}} style of being referred to, but it would be best if we had a proper source for that, or a message from Vanessa Tsehaye herself, to confirm either what she prefers, or what the most common usage is. What a person does not say is not relevant without a good source

[edit]

There are many statements that, for example, Angela Merkel and Joe Biden could have made publicly but didn't (or haven't yet). But to add sections to their pages about their lack of statements on those topics, we would need good sources of notable people or other sources who say that the non-statements were significant.

I removed the section because it was much too poorly sourced and worded for a biography of a living person. Instagram is not normally a reliable source, and the login page https://www.instagram.com/accounts/login is definitely not a source for anything, except that fact that Instagram has a login interface, which is completely irrelevant to this article.

The section could be restored if there were proper sources either summarising Vanessa's video or summarising the criticisms of her video and showing that the criticisms are notable, rather than just internet gossip. Boud (talk) 14:22, 25 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Just to avoid misunderstandings: there are plenty of sources pointing to human rights violations against Amharas in current-day Ethiopia. Documenting those appropriately in the Wikipedia pages where that makes most sense, with proper sources, would be a useful contribution. Boud (talk) 14:30, 25 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
