What Exactly Does "Builder" Mean?

[edit]

How much of the vehicles does the company build? Who supplies motors, gears, etc.? --Maikel 17:45, 16 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

In general, a bus building builds the chassis, then mounts a market standard transmission and market standard engine (albeit with appropriate custom tubing) to the wheels. In the US, Van Hools are powered by Cummins, Detroit Diesel, Caterpillar (and previously, Daimler/MAN) diesels, and can be equipped with Allison or ZF transmissions. -- Kschang77 06:58, 12 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Recent Large Modification

An IP-identified user has added a large block of text that includes no links and seems to have been put out by the company. Does this constituted advertising? Bayberrylane 15:57, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'll take a look soon. -- Kschang77 07:00, 12 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
For whatever it's worth, the IP address in question traces back to Cambrium BV in Ermelo, Netherlands. Useddenim (talk) 14:48, 30 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Alternative spelling of Van Hool?

[edit]

I've created a new page under Vanhool which redirects to this article as it's an alternative spelling of the company name.

Thinking about it though; Whilst "Van Hool" is the correct way of writing this (Or any similar double-barelled name), the name on Van Hool products is always written without the space ("Vanhool"). Is it possible that "Vanhool" could be the official spelling of the company name? Not a big issue I know, but for Wikipedia's high standards of accuracy, it might be worth a thought. :-)

The companies official www.vanhool.be website shows the correct spelling as Van Hool (with the space). Just thought I'd help to clear that up!

Who added that M12 series to the front entry?

[edit]

M12 series are ABC products, NOT Van Hool! See here http://www.abc-companies.com/midsize_sales.asp I'm going to edit it. -- Kschang77 (talk) 06:02, 10 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Reference added for UTA bus purchase

[edit]

A reference to the CPTDB Wiki [1] has been added establishing when Utah Transit Authority purchased its A300 buses from ABC for the MAX BRT line. Blackcap95 (talk) 20:41, 2 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Per WP:RS and specifically WP:USERG, forums and user-edited pages are not reliable sources. SJ Morg (talk) 07:55, 3 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Former products?

[edit]

Can you tell me the former products that Van Hool no longer produces?
