This article needs a LOT of work.

[edit]

Characters, Organizations, Places should probably be trimmed down to those which have significant roles in more than one book, as right now it strikes me as fancruft. The species thing could probably be removed, too. Most of the notable characters are either human, lifeweaver (or in one case, a Golden One) and this information could easily be stated right from the beginning.

The Books definately need short (but not TOO short) summaries.

The Glossary is pretty useful but could probably be trimmed down. I don't think we need information about what Bearfire and Chasing the Red are.

Aside from that, this article needs some serious copy-editing. Lankybugger 17:30, 25 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I am working of basically a full rewrite, but it's starting to tire me out :) If anyone wants to hop over to my user space, User:Kutulu/Vampire Earth, and continue editing, it would be appreciated. I'm not going to change this article until I have all of the work done, so I don't leave it in a half-finished state. As is, it at least has a lot of information :) Kutulu 04:05, 8 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'd like to comment on the statement, I'm not going to change this article until I have all of the work done,. I'm all for quality, but if you have any improvements that would make the text better, then probably the thing to do would be to go ahead and make them. As long as the improvements are coherent and can stand by themselves, it seems like wiki is the right place to save them. Otherwise, wouldn't the fact that a complete rewrite is in the wings have the perverse effect of discouraging any other improvements to the article? Anyway, that's my two-bit opinion. All of the plot summaries for the later books are just the publisher's blurbs from the back of the dust covers. I'll have to dig out my copies and re-read them before I can tackle rewriting it though. Atypicaloracle (talk) 20:47, 28 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
