General: Article is new enough and long enough
Policy: Article is sourced, neutral, and free of copyright problems
Hook: Hook has been verified by provided inline citation
QPQ: Done.

Overall: Article was created yesterday and is long enough. No issues with copyvio and the hooks are cited and interesting. I think ALT0 is more concise. QPQ has been done so this is good to go! Sebbirrrr (talk) 15:07, 14 June 2023 (UTC)

@Sebbirrrr and MaranoFan: I have searched the article and ALt0 and 1 are not accurate. We need another hook. Bruxton (talk) 23:11, 17 June 2023 (UTC)
It's a quirky hook in the style of this one and this one. Rodrigo wears two purple Band-Aids on her neck in the single cover which signify she has been bit by a vampire according to the Billboard source. Apologies for disturbing but would you mind offering second opinions, BorgQueen and Lightburst? I am baffled as my hook is uncontroversial compared to the promoted examples...--NØ 02:42, 18 June 2023 (UTC)
There was no bite so it seems rather eggy, but I have been wrong before. I will ask for an opinion from @Theleekycauldron:. Bruxton (talk) 23:34, 18 June 2023 (UTC)
In my opinion, both of the promotions that've been cited should not have gone through. Breaking WP:VOICE is not a good strategy for creating quirky hooks, it usually just ends up repeating marketing patter. The same, I imagine, would apply here. It's the same logic that underlies SG?in-universe: human creativity is endless, and any number of quirky stories can be simply made up – but we shouldn't be parroting that as an interesting fact of the real world. theleekycauldron (talkcontribs) (she/her) 23:39, 18 June 2023 (UTC)
Sorry, guys, you may retrospectively think those hooks should not have gone through but the point I was making was that you did not stop them. Anyways, I am absolutely powerless to change anything here as the authority rests completely with you. I do believe my hook meets SG?in-universe as Rodrigo did actually wear two purple Band-Aids. Here's the safe hook which will get half the views:
  • Bruxton, is ALT2 okay with you? I'm not seeing a point in bothering the reviewer again when it is essentially a cropped version of the already-approved ALT1. What more is required? I am really hoping this won't be stalled for two months, and to go back there is the absolute last thing I want..--NØ 16:21, 23 June 2023 (UTC)
@Theleekycauldron, MaranoFan, and Sebbirrrr: I wonder if we cannot conjure up a hook that is about the song. I am not sure that ALT2 meets the interesting component of hooks. Bruxton (talk) 17:39, 23 June 2023 (UTC)
ALT3: ... that one critic said Olivia Rodrigo's song Vampire "might lean in the gothic, shadow-y pop arena"?
And if you want to keep the vampire angle there is the article about Twilight's Taylor Lautner, who played the werewolf Jacob Black in the Twilight movies. I added a sentence in the article about it.
ALT4: ... that for the release of the song Vampire, Olivia Rodrigo posted an image on Instagram and an actor who starred as a werewolf in the Twilight movie asked who bit her?
or
ALT5: ... that in a tease for her song, Olivia Rodrigo appears to show off band-aides which cover a vampire bite?
Not sure if any of these will be approved but maybe you can consider. The ones that focus on the bite are tangential. If any are used they need approval by someone other than me. I am a bit foggy today but I think this is the best I could tease out of the article. Bruxton (talk) 17:39, 23 June 2023 (UTC)

Bruxton, I think ALT2 is okay. In fact, I'm curious to see where it goes – it's an angle we don't usually try. theleekycauldron (talkcontribs) (she/her) 08:20, 2 July 2023 (UTC)

@Theleekycauldron: I am ok with it. I think I think either of us can promote it. Bruxton (talk) 13:22, 2 July 2023 (UTC)

Background

I just removed a paragraph of information regarding Rodrigo's debut album since it has nothing to do with Vampire, a song from her second album - however, it was reinstated under the guise of being "disruptive". I think my removal and the question I raised was valid, since a single from her second album only warrants a brief mention of her first body of work at most. What do others think? – Meena18:18, 13 June 2023 (UTC)

There are currently four lines in the article detailing Rodrigo's success with her first album that directly lay context for the expectations from this single as the follow-up. It is more than fine. "a single from her second album only warrants a brief mention of her first body of work at most" is not stated by any guideline and seems to be something you have made up.--NØ 18:26, 13 June 2023 (UTC)
I never said it was a guideline, just what I think. I also think it's ref bombing and that the song is notable enough without the puffery para. – Meena18:32, 13 June 2023 (UTC)
I don't think that the first sentence about the signing of her record deal and intended EP is necessary. That feels a bit too far removed from this particular single. However, a brief mention of Sour and its singles' successes is a good inclusion. We don't want the background section to become too bloated. — Peterpie123rww (talk) 19:30, 13 June 2023 (UTC)
That seems more reasonable. Trimmed out that sentence.--NØ 19:48, 13 June 2023 (UTC)

Does anyone have an opinion on whether we should mention all the top-10 singles from Sour or just the number ones?--NØ 22:42, 13 June 2023 (UTC)

I think just the number ones would suffice to be honest. — Peterpie123rww (talk) 09:50, 14 June 2023 (UTC)
