216.244.12.76 I need to talk to you
[edit]Hi, I am an administrator, Xinyu, and I got a report from ProfesorPaul, about how you've been, "vandalizing" EVERY SINGLE EPISODE OF The Twilight Zone. Discuss your intentions, what you have editted, fixed up, and under what pretext you have for doing so. I need you to tell me all the information you can get, and I promise both you and ProfessorPaul, this problem would be negotiable, once the facts has been laid bare, and then I'll see that NPOV, justice, and peace would be restored on this article. Thank you, please reply on my user TALK page. Thank you. --Lord X 01:36, 20 June 2006 (UTC)User:Xinyu
Generally....
[edit]The plot summary is too long, as it is in articles about other Twilight Zone episodes.
The "Precursors" section seems to be original research. It's not obvious that the "overall premise of a hidden civilization hiding futuristic technology" led to Marvel's 'Black Panther' because the idea had been used so many times before, in comic books and pulp magazines.
"As were several Twilight Zone episodes of the time, this episode is an allegory of the freedom/communism dichotomy, portraying Peaceful Valley as a utopian but inescapable paradise, pitted against the protagonist who wanted the freedom he could not have there." This also seems to be original research or opinion. My impression is that Redfield is an idealist and the people of the town know they are stuck with their fate, but sensibly accept it because doing otherwise (as Renfield wants) would be a horrible fate for everyone. Perhaps the idea is that idealism untempered by common sense is bad. There are other interpretations.
More particularly, near the beginning, the protagonist drives down the "Aisle of Trees" or the "Tree-Lined Road" that is seen in other episodes, in The Outer Limits, and in other shows of the period. Where was that?
(Yes, I'm binging on this season of The Twilight Zone right now.) Wastrel Way (talk) Eric
