2020 release
[edit]Can someone change this page's name to Valley Girl (2020 film)? The source I added on a lot of pages relating to this says it releases in 2020. 98.235.131.222 (talk) 17:02, 27 November 2019 (UTC)
Lesbian and LGBT categories
[edit]Per WP:CATVER: "Categorization of articles must be verifiable. It should be clear from verifiable information in the article why it was placed in each of its categories."
There needs to be material in the article that describes the character/s that provide the reason for the article having the categories. I have not seen the movie, but I did a quick search and, so far, found the following:
- "Cut to Randy (Joshua Whitehouse), who sings lead in Safety Recall, a band that also includes his jaded lesbian roommate Jack (Mae Whitman)." – 'Valley Girl': Film Review, David Rooney, The Hollywood Reporter, May 8, 2020.
- "Randy (who’s a wannabe rock star) lives in a dumpy apartment in Hollywood with his two band mates: a lesbian bass player named Jack (played by Mae Whitman) and a kooky drummer named Sticky (played by Mario Revolori). Jack is Randy’s best friend/sidekick, which was the role of Fred Bailey (played by Cameron Dye) in the original “Valley Girl” movie." – Review: 'Valley Girl' (2020), starring Jessica Rothe, Josh Whitehouse, Logan Paul, Mae Whitman, Jessie Ennis, Chloe Bennet and Alicia Silverstone, Carlay Hay, Culture Mix, May 8, 2020.
- "Amy Talkington’s script also changes things up. Mae Whitman’s Jack is a lesbian to the film’s credit. They play to the contemporary era without ruining the 80s spirit. It’s honestly a good move." – Valley Girl: A Charming 1980s Musical Throwback, Danielle Solzman, Solzy At the Movies, May 8, 2020.
- "Randy has a lesbian friend named Jack." "Randy's lesbian friend hits a boy at a party when he is rude to her for rejecting him." – Valley Girl, Emily Clark, Plugged In, Focus on the Family, May 9, 2020. (FYI: Fundamentalist Christian publication and organization.)
- "Whitman will play a punk rock lesbian who is Randy’s best friend and bandmate." – ‘Parenthood’ Star Mae Whitman Joins ‘Valley Girl’ Musical Remake (EXCLUSIVE), Justin Kroll, Variety, May 4, 2017.
