History
[edit]When this article was originally written and later sectioned off, William West Skiles was the name given as the founder of Valle Crucis and the Episcopal Church there. The article continued referring to Skiles and his accomplishments. Then in 2012 the name was changed from Skiles to Levi Ives but leaving everything else the same.
As it stands now, Ives spent the rest of his life in the area. He didn't. Following sentences refer to Skiles, not Ives and William W. Skiles is never reintroduced. Furthermore, none of this information has source citations. Various sources have different accounts of the history. Web pages seem to copy/paste information that appears to be in conflict with memoirs of the principles and early 20th Century historians. It will probably take some digging to sort it out.
