Content Suggestions
[edit]I am by no means an expert in this field, so please take my suggestions with a pinch of salt!!
- Im not sure if a mathematical equation () is the best way to show that KGMS is comprised of three different components. Perhaps this could be better demonstrated with a diagram or just outright stating it, as has been done already.
- In the Vadalog System section, perhaps the sub-sections "Reasoning task and recursion" and "The query language" could be supplemented with some real world examples of what the rules and queries are attempting to do/find out. Perhaps the example rule "" could be explained in laymans terms
Overall a nice article -- Tmerbex92 (talk) 13:14, 1 July 2022 (UTC)
Lead suggestions
[edit]Hi, I read through your article and I like it in general, I just have some doubts about the lead. I think KGMS shouldn't be in bold (see MOS:BOLDLEAD) if it isn't exactly the same thing as Vadalog itself. Also I think that saying state-of-the-art isn't very encyclopedic, since it might change as time passes and the field develops. MaarrkL (talk) 13:16, 1 July 2022 (UTC)
Article review [GLAM@PoliMi2022]
[edit]The article is very nice and in my opinion, even though I'm by far no expert in this field, quite understandable. Well done!
I have corrected minor stuff like leftover blank spaces before quotes. I have no other specific suggestions. NickDiCicco (talk) 13:39, 1 July 2022 (UTC)
Observations and suggestions for improvements
[edit]The following observations and suggestions for improvements were collected, following expert review of the article within the Science, Technology, Society and Wikipedia course at the Politecnico di Milano, in June 2022.
Overall, the article is nice and understandable also by non-experts. My suggestions are the following: - The article states that Vadalog can integrate graph databases like neo4j. It would be nice to declare which kind of graph models are supported. Given that it can integrate neo4j, it indeed supports the Labeled-property graph model, but it is unclear if it supports all the graph databases using that model or just neo4j. Moreover, there is no information about the support for graph databases using the triplets-based RDF model. The "KGMS" section states that a KGMS system needs APIs to access many heterogeneous data sources, and RDF stores are reported as an example. However, it is not clear If Vadalog actually supports this data model. - The mathematical equation KGMS=KBMS+BigData+Analytics probably is not the best way to show that KGMS comprises three different components. A figure would be more appropriate, in my opinion. - In "The query language" subsection of the "Vadalog system" section, the sentence "Variables in Vadalog are like variables in first-order logic and that a variable is local to the rule in which it occurs" must be rewritten correctly. - More details could be provided in the "Vadalog extension", for example about the rich annotation mechanism. Some details about annotations are reported in the Jupyter support subsection, but I suggest providing a more detailed explanation of the annotation mechanism and its functionalities. I also suggest providing some trivial but significant examples.
