In Transportation Section there's written The Kanpur Metro is under construction. Instead the Kanpur Metro has started operating in its first phase from 28 December 2021. [Check the current network section on Kanpur Metro Wiki Page [1]] Also add that the Agra Metro is under construction. [2]. Divyanshsikarwar (talk) 10:52, 21 March 2022 (UTC)

Please state the number of the most populated US states that add up to a population that is smaller than that of Uttar Pradesh. What I mean is if you sum the populations of states in order starting with California and Texas, when will you end up with a population that is greater than Uttar Pradesh's? 50.24.26.218 (talk) 18:34, 21 May 2022 (UTC) 50.24.26.218 (talk) 18:34, 21 May 2022 (UTC)

The literacy rates mentioned in the side boxes is wrong even by the source (census 2011 data) provided in the footnotes. Kindly correct it. SPriyadarisi (talk) 04:24, 8 June 2022 (UTC)

Misrepresentation of data
What is written in Wikipedia page does not match with what is written in reference 134. 123.136.149.93 (talk) 14:01, 10 July 2022 (UTC)
- If it is this source, the source says on page 7 that Uttar Pradesh has a total of 598.19 lakh people in poverty. That would be 59,819,000 people in poverty. WhisperToMe (talk) 23:17, 13 December 2022 (UTC)
Sources
An editor has been marking Indian and State government sources as primary and therefore supposedly inadmissible. However, governments are reliable sources, and like all primary sources may legitimately be used for basic facts about themselves. There would be no advantage in seeking secondary sources for such facts as those sources would simply rely on the government statistics, often using older versions the data, which would not be any sort of improvement. Chiswick Chap (talk) 15:47, 21 January 2023 (UTC)
- @Chiswick Chap Government sources are primary sources, reliable or otherwise.
Apart from statistics (census, temperatures, etc, aka hard numbers), if it is a basic fact, please use a secondary source where possible, which is what we should doI take back that, they are fine as long as it is a basic fact. I also noticed some statements which are not basic facts, they need to be sourced from secondary sources — DaxServer (t · m · c) 17:12, 21 January 2023 (UTC) (amended 17:17, 21 January 2023 (UTC))
- Well I'm glad we basically agree. Chiswick Chap (talk) 18:13, 21 January 2023 (UTC)
- In Tourism section:
- owing to its rich and varied topography ... viharas - This is not cited. Is it available in the earlier two citations?
- Doubt it. Removed.
- Second para until Vaishnavism is uncited
- Edited, added refs.

- I don't agree, it's a basic fact: such things can certainly be substantial. But I've added another ref anyway.
- Um, WP:SOFIXIT? You are completely at liberty to construct rather than to criticise. Chiswick Chap (talk) 11:43, 22 January 2023 (UTC)
- I would if I have enough time on my hands to do the research. It's quite unfortunate that you take that as criticism when it is simply a plain feedback — DaxServer (t · m · c) 11:46, 22 January 2023 (UTC)
- No, criticism of the article. Chiswick Chap (talk) 11:49, 22 January 2023 (UTC)

In Culture section:
- Proper cite is required for the gharanas, the existing one is not a valid WP:RS
- Replaced ref.
- Starting Buddha Purnima until the end. The end cite is for Ganga Mahotsav
- Repositioned ref; removed uncited/national/international festivals as not distinctive of the state.
- Cuisine ref does not support the content
- Replaced ref.

Judicial Capital?
The Judicial Capital of Uttar Pradesh is Prayagraj, while Lucknow is only the Legislative and Executive Capital.
If they can be mentioned separately for many nations such as South Africa, why not for Uttar Pradesh? Smart Sherlock (talk) 17:15, 20 June 2023 (UTC)

NPOV Edits
Several editors have inserted advertisements, details about under-construction projects, and other content, completely disregarding the guidelines (GA) for the article. I have excluded these sections and will continue to oversee such edits. Please contribute constructively, refraining from unnecessarily lengthening the article or creating subsections for just a few sentences. 25 CENTS VICTORIOUS 🍁 16:47, 25 November 2023 (UTC)
- Please refrain from turning this article into a Hindu vs Muslim or the best state of India debate. Achieving GA (Good Article) status requires significant time and effort. Introducing advertisements and numerous pro-government edits may jeopardize the article's GA status. Therefore, kindly avoid making edits that do not serve the purpose of informing its readers. 25 CENTS VICTORIOUS 🍁 03:38, 13 December 2023 (UTC)

Replacing Lathmar Holi with Kashi Vishwanath Temple
I am proposing a replacement of Lathmar Holi with the Kashi Vishwanath Temple I am aware of the current political situation of the monument however this is an important site in the state. Holi is a celebration so having a monument in the infobox would be better. I am also not sure how important the New Yamuna Bridge is. SKAG123 (talk) 23:01, 14 February 2024 (UTC)

All About Hinduism and Hindu Temples
Can someone help me understand why IP/ New users want this article to be about Hinduism? Also, info-box images are supposed to reflect the gist of the article. They should include flora/fauna, architecture, geography, culture, festivals, to name a few. I have reiterated this in the past and wouldn't mind saying it again. Please feel free to make significant changes, but do not convert this article into being all about Hinduism. Such edits will be reverted if brought to attention. 25 CENTS VICTORIOUS 🍁 20:11, 2 May 2024 (UTC)
