[edit]It currently reads: "Usman Harooni (1096-1187 AD, 526-617 AH) was an early day Sufi Saint, a successor to Shareef Zandani, fourteenth link in the Sufi Silsilah of Chishti Order, and the Master of Khawaja Moinuddin Chishti. Khwaja Usman Harooni was born in Haroon, Iran. According to some, he was born in 1131 AD (526 AH) and according to others, he was born in 1116 AD (510 AH)."
Has the following problems:
1) Third sentence says 1116 and 1131, but initial parenthesis says 1096. In the absence of any citations, it's not clear which is the most reliable of these three dates (and should therefore appear in the initial parenthesis).
2) The AD and AH dates in the initial parenthesis don't match (since 526 AH seems to be 1131 AD).
It's probably best to omit the initial parenthesis under the circumstances. --Sarabseth (talk) 11:22, 5 January 2013 (UTC)
A note in passing: the 1096 birth date would make him 124 years old (solar) when he died, highly unlikely.Ramseyman (talk) 11:40, 5 June 2022 (UTC)
Death
[edit]The paragraph which starts with "The first Urs ceremony was commemorated ... by" is extremely murky and hard to follow. Am I to understand that the various details of murids and shrines pertain not to Usman Harooni but rather to certain Sufis who have celebrated Usman Harooni's urs during the past 650 years? If this information is important, then perhaps it should instead be written in articles about the lives of those other Sufis, not here.Ramseyman (talk) 11:40, 5 June 2022 (UTC)
