date (etc) it was invented/developed/discovered?

[edit]

I'd love to see some info about when, where, how and by whom it was invented. I have a source here (that's not very academic, sadly) that says early 1929. Anyone got anything better? Thanks very much.--TyrS (talk) 13:46, 9 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Non encyclopaedic language

[edit]

"It produces a great resin" and "(UFFI) can make a great synthetic insulation" are but two examples. A slightly better writer could improve this considerably. Gowt (talk) 23:02, 30 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The entire section "Urea-formaldehyde foam insulation" has non-encylopedia writing and no sources. The one source given is a dead link, and it contradicts the majority of what is written in the section. stannius 6 december 2011 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.65.109.130 (talk) 18:25, 6 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

R value

[edit]

The R value is a meaningless value unless the thickness of the foam is known.

Thermal conductivity is more useful as it is a measure of the property of the foam whatever the dimensions. I therefore edited this section, including a reference.Lkingscott (talk) 13:56, 25 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
