Musical style and lyrics

[edit]

This article covers the charts, promotion, and reception. It would be great if it covered the musical style and lyrics. Hyacinth (talk) 18:37, 9 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Opening/video

[edit]

The opening states the plot of the music video ... is there any other information (YouTube views, award nominations, etc) that could have this information removed from the opening to a new section? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Beertenderissac (talkcontribs) 19:15, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

See: WP:Lead: "The lead serves both as an introduction to the article below and as a short, independent summary of the important aspects of the article's topic." Hyacinth (talk) 19:32, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Still free?

[edit]

Is the song still available for free legally?-Remurmur (talk) 05:20, 10 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not first single

[edit]

This IS NOT the first single of "One Of The Boys", this was released A LOT earlier then the album. It's just a promotion ¬¬ The lead single is "I Kissed A Girl". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 190.137.3.30 (talk) 14:53, 23 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree with the Music video section

[edit]

"In the video, Perry plays the song in front of a bright cartoon-like background. The video mocks aspects of modern culture including Myspace and Emo culture. The characters in the video are played by plastic dolls"

I disagree that it mocks Myspace and Emo culture. The song is clearly about some prude guy. The source given is a poor way of portraying this kind of information. Blueknightex (talk) 06:48, 18 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Article

[edit]

I'm unsure whether this article should be about the EP or the song. :S Yves (talk) 01:30, 6 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Promotional single vs. single

[edit]

@SNUGGUMS: Do you have a source calling "Ur So Gay" a promotional single? Billiekhalidfan (talk) 00:59, 17 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The Guardian describes it as a "buzz single" (which is a synonym for promo single) and Billboard straight-up says "promotional single". For further proof it wasn't a single (though admittedly not as explicit with regard to being promotional), there's Official Charts Company calling it one of her biggest non-singles based on a combination of UK sales and streams.
