Comment
[edit]- PASSED
The article is close to a pass, but there are a couple of items that need to be addressed first:
Introduction
[edit]- Done Upminster and Barking stations should be linked on first usage.
History section
[edit]- Done Suggest you link "After nationalisation of the railways in 1948" to Transport Act 1947.
Design section
[edit]- Done Suggest replacing "typical 1930s railway architectural style", which is requires prior knowledge of what that was and is possibly different in other parts of the world, with a link to Art Deco.
- I don't think that it is necessary to go into quite the level of detail on all of the visually impaired works; this could be covered in a more general sentence.
- It's only a few words and it gives a clear idea of what was done. Mephiston999 (talk) 01:18, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
Location section
[edit]- Done "Hornchurch" side does not need quotes.
- Done The station is only served by Underground trains so the first four words of "On the London Underground the station..." could be removed.
Services
[edit]- Done "Journey time to Upminster is two minutes, to Barking is approximately 20 minutes, and to Aldgate East is approximately 40 minutes" Needs "The" before journey and the first comma should be a semi-colon.
- Done Is there a particular reason why the journey time to Aldgate East was chosen. At it has already been mentioned, I suggest you give the journey time to Earl's Court instead, or to a major station such as Victoria.
- Done Suggest link peak periods to rush hour.
- Done I don't think that it is necessary to identify the type of train serving the station. This could change in the future.
References
[edit]- Done Author names should be in lastname, first name order.
- Done In ref 4, You could link to Christian Wolmar using "author=Wolmar, Christian"
- Done In ref 5, suggest you add "– Notes" to the title so it is clear where on the page the information cited is located.
- Done In ref 8, if you add "#page=12" {without the quotes) to the end of the url it will take the reader directly to the page in the PDF where the Upminster Bridge works are mentioned.
- Done (fixed) In ref 9, the second PDF link is broken.
- Done (removed) Whilst my experience of reading OS maps confirms to me that the area is primarily residential due to the small plot sizes, the map linked to for ref 12 does not actual state this fact. What is the purpose of the map and what is the PTAL Zone that it is delineating?
- Done In ref 20, if you add "#page=5" to the end of the url, it will jump to the correct page showing the service frequency.
Other issues
[edit]- Done Suggest add {{clearleft}} after the text in the Design and Location sections so that the headings of the following section is placed under the image on a wide screen.DavidCane (talk) 00:27, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
