Copright Violation
[edit]The material I removed is a copyright violation from http://reviews.planetc1.com/Western_States_Chiropractic_College.html -- please read about copyright violations here. If you believe this is not a copyright violation, please discuss on this page. Thanks. Katr67 21:54, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
- The material is not a copyright violation. The material is from http://www.wschiro.edu/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=14&Itemid=29 of which I , as the Director of Communications am responsible for and wrote.--Toddloggan 22:10, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
- I think it is safe to assume that the copyright notices on both of the above pages are not simply present as a form of decoration. On the other hand, we cannot safely assume that this copyrighted material is safe for inclusion based on a simple assertion. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the hoary legal details regarding the granting of permission to use this material on Wikipedia.
- Also, since you are connected with the college, I also direct you to our guidelines regarding conflict of interest. --Finngall talk 22:27, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
- (edit conflict) Well in that case, you need to take a look at our guidelines about neutral-point-of-view, our conflict-of-interest guidelines and our business FAQ. In a nutshell, Wikipedia is not here to help you promote the school. Though fairly neutrally written, some of the copy you are adding makes the article read like an advertisement, not an encyclopedia article. In any case, the bottom of the page you cited says "© 2005 Western States Chiropractic College" and so we need permission to use it. See Wikipedia:Example requests for permission about permission to license the material under the GFDL. I hope this helps. Katr67 22:28, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
