Disputed information
[edit]After some googling I couldn't link most of the people in "Notable alumni" to UoE. If they truly were notable (or actually ***are*** alumni) they should be easy to connect to the university. —Preceding unsigned comment added by WibWobble (talk • contribs) 08:20, 5 April 2009 (UTC)
- A good rule of thumb i found is that if they dont have a wiki page they are probably not notable to include in these lists Ottawa4ever (talk) 00:25, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
- +1, let people get on to wikipedia for other reasons, then link to them. I've cleaned up one obviously bad pointer (Andrew Fitzgibbon, but left the name in place), and added Paul Dourish undergraduate there. Paul's LinkedIn page says The University of Edinburgh, B.Sc., Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science, 1984 – 1989; Doug Cutting's LinkedIn entry says "Research Assistant, The Centre for Speech Technology Research February 1986 — June 1987 (1 year 5 months). Assuming that CSTR merged into this school, he counts. SteveLoughran (talk) 20:06, 18 September 2010 (UTC)
ACM Fellows
[edit]Not sure where best to note that the School of Informatics now has (at least) four Fellows of the ACM, following the addition of Leonid Libkin and Wenfei Fan (2012). Phil Wadler (2007) and Peter Buneman (2000) were also on the list. I don't think there's a postnomial as for FRS. Amkilpatrick (talk) 16:44, 11 December 2012 (UTC)
