Any one of various churches

[edit]

For this to be an encyclopedia, an editor would have to name such a Church (or Churches) in a NPOV manner. patsw 12:42, 11 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Info repetition?

[edit]

Forgive me, but aren't the pink-marked texts here two formulations of one thing(?):

  • the Church Universal:
    • A translation of catholic as in "catholic church".
    • The idea that all Christian churches and sects share certain things in common
    • The idea that all Christians form part of a single body. This idea had more organisational force in pre-Reformation Western Europe, when the Roman Catholic Church dominated the local religious landscape. Note that the original etymological form of the word catholic meant "universal".
  • The Roman Catholic Church specifically
  • An invisible body of believers from all over the world from the beginning of Act 15 up to now who are either on Earth or Heaven, believers are defined as those who have accepted Jesus Christ as their own personal Lord and Saviour.

They are not quite equal to each other. I think the first highlighted definition is a secular Western civilization or Catholic viewpoint if we look at medieval European history, while the later is an orthodox Protestant (generally evangelical) understanding, which I understand Catholics do not agree with.--JNZ 22:40, 13 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Peter William Leach-Lewis, is a fraudster, running a Scam,

[edit]

Mr Leach Lewis if that is indeed is his name runs a Cult, A Cult that separates people from their families their friends, and most importantly their money. Leach-Lewis is a Fraud as is his wife Rita Leach-Lewis. They are to be avoided but if anyone can add any additional detail to this discussion please do so. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 210.54.69.176 (talk) 20:04, 26 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
