Case year
[edit]Hi. It's unclear whether this case should be titled "United States v. Johnson (1864)" or "United States v. Johnson (1863)". Consequently, it's unclear whether the citation should be "68 U.S. 326 (1864)" or "68 U.S. 326 (1863)". For now, I've made everything consistently 1864, but this may be wrong. If someone could investigate this further, I'd appreciate it.
It looks like the case was heard and decided during the December 1863 term, but both the argument and decision dates are in 1864 (January 26, 1864 and February 15, 1864, respectively). I believe case citations follow the year of the decision, not the year of the term. --MZMcBride (talk) 18:00, 29 November 2012 (UTC)
