1960
[edit]In the United States presidential election in Alabama, 1960, only five of the electors were pledged to vote for Kennedy. The six unpledged electors voted for Harry F. Byrd. --Scolaire (talk) 11:13, 20 September 2016 (UTC)
- I'll copy this into the notes. Thanks. bd2412 T 12:37, 20 September 2016 (UTC)
- Should you not add Harry Byrd to the "Other candidates" column? The footnote defines "others" as candidates who won at least one electoral vote, or won at least ten percent of the vote in multiple states. Byrd did both, winning Mississippi, effectively winning Alabama, getting over 20% in Louisiana, and receiving 15 electoral votes. Scolaire (talk) 15:22, 20 September 2016 (UTC)
- Actually, I'm going to be bold and add him myself. Scolaire (talk) 15:30, 20 September 2016 (UTC)
- I have no objection to that, but note that there is no information on Byrd in the United States presidential election, 1960 table, from which I gleaned this data. Despite receiving electoral votes, Byrd was not actually a candidate. In any case, I assume you will want to include similar notes at United States presidential elections in Mississippi and United States presidential elections in Oklahoma. bd2412 T 15:32, 20 September 2016 (UTC)
- Mississippi and Louisiana, yes. Byrd is not in the table, as you say, but he is in the Electoral milestones section of that article. Scolaire (talk) 15:41, 20 September 2016 (UTC)
- Oh, yes. And Oklahoma too. Scolaire (talk) 15:59, 20 September 2016 (UTC)
