Overview

[edit]

Discuss the broad applications of wind policy. Wind policy is generally directed at three categories of constituents:

  • Research and Development Organizations
  • Commercial/Residential Generators
  • Manufacturers and Producers

Environmental Impacts

[edit]

Many of the problems identified above carry over into this section. The section is simplistic, biased against wind power, and has significant POV problems. I can't see where the fact that wind power emits no air pollution, unlike fossil fuel power sources, is mentioned. Important advantages like this seem to have been overlooked. The Wind Turbine Syndrome mention and link are unnecessary as we no longer have an article on this topic as there were not enough reliable sources to support one. Shadow flicker is a minor issue not worthy of inclusion. The Radar interference section is overblown.

So I have replaced this discussion with the lead section from Environmental impact of wind power, which is altogether more appropriate and balanced, per WP:SS. And I have moved the discussion down as an article on Wind Energy Policy does not need to open with a discussion of Environmental impacts.

Please note that I have taken more time than usual to explain my edits here, as I understand this is a student project and thought it may be helpful. Please don't take any criticisms personally. This is all part of working to make a better article. Thanks. Johnfos (talk) 01:10, 16 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned references in United States Wind Energy Policy

[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of United States Wind Energy Policy's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "awea_q4_09":

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 19:43, 20 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I used the first item to fix the error. Still needs to be fixed, being a dead link, however. - Salamurai (talk) 03:30, 23 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
