Company Fate?

The infobox says "Fate: Merger" but then "Defunct: May 1970". Can a company be in both of these states simultaneously? It sounds to me that the "Fate:" should be changed to defunct. "Defunct" simply means 'no longer existing or functioning'; a company can be defunct because it was absorbed into another organization and its independent identity terminated just the same as it can be defunct because it disbands and has its assets liquidated. That said, there's more to be written here, as the whole saga of the reorganization of US Radium Corp. into USR Industries was an attempt to insulate the Safety Light Corporation business from the former parent company's liability for industrial cleanup and contamination-related lawsuits. Isn't it interesting how much all industrial poisoners do this-try to hide from the mess they create by starting up new companies -renaming them and stating that they are "not that company anymore", all in order to avoid medical compensation claims...
