Disambiguation in title
[edit]@Spyder Monkey: There were at least 70 Marine Hospitals constructed throughout the U.S., many of which are "old" in the sense that they were functionally replaced with newer buildings. The term "Old Marine Hospital" is ambiguous, even if none of them currently have an article. John P. Sadowski (NIOSH) (talk) 00:27, 20 September 2020 (UTC)
- Yes, surely there are other old Marine hospitals, but none of them (currently) are notable enough to warrant a Wikipedia article, so we don't need to disambiguate (see WP:ATDAB). Spyder_Monkey (Talk) 23:08, 21 October 2020 (UTC)
- @Spyder Monkey: We have articles on Marine Hospital (Portland, Maine), United States Marine Hospital (Mobile, Alabama), United States Marine Hospital of Louisville, and Cincinnati Marine Hospital. The best way to disambiguate this hospital is through the location, rather than simply prepending "Old" to the title, as all the Marine Hospitals are old. John P. Sadowski (NIOSH) (talk) 02:06, 22 October 2020 (UTC)
- I'm standardizing all Marine Hospital titles to "United States Marine Hospital (City)", as "United States Marine Hospital" appears to be the the WP:COMMONNAME used in sources for all hospitals in the system. "Old Marine Hospital" does not appear to be the WP:COMMONNAME, just the name listed in the National Register application, and in fact the plaque on the building says "United States Marine Hospital".
