Mission

[edit]

The "Mission" section is currently brimming with buzzwords. While I think it's great that someone associated with the military probably created the article, the fact of the matter is that putting some simpler language in somewhere - perhaps even a single sentence or paragraph - would really help clarify things. I'm talking about "USJFC is responsible for integrating the various branches of the military, and experimenting with novel tactics and equipment" (or whatever), rather than sentences like

"The benchmark of USJFCOM's efforts is to create effects in the battlespace in support of campaigns designed and conducted by the combatant commanders in pursuit of presidentially-approved policy goals."

which are great on mission statements, but not so great in an encyclopedia article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.208.31.80 (talk) 09:13, 24 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

List of commanders

[edit]

There should be a list of former and current commanders.

There is. Claudevsq 14:57, 18 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Where is the information coming from that Patraeus will be taking over JFCOM? He just left CENTCOM for Afghanistan and I doubt he will be leaving Afghanistan before the end of that war (or he winds up in Rolling Stone). Just curious as to the source there APT41790 (talk) 17:55, 25 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Atlantic Command

[edit]

United States Atlantic Command is currently a redirect here. However, there is very little history on the command, which was active from 1947-1993. As its role and fuction are very different from JFCOM, I'd like to see a separate article created to cover that history. However, I don't have access to any sources on the command, nor am I familiar enough with the history to sort good sources from bad. Any help would be appreciated. - BillCJ (talk) 00:48, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, I uploaded a new logo, one that has the correct colors instead of the green "united states" it is blue. However, i believe the file size is too large as it takes forever to load. Could one of you tech savvy folks watching this page please re-size the picture so it loads faster. Thanks--DODCTR (talk) 15:45, 4 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
