If it were, we would have to delete all the red links, shorten the lede to say "United States Assistant Secretary of Defense may refer to:", and delete everything else on the page, including the external link, these being expressly forbidden on disambig pages. bd2412 T 16:28, 1 March 2011 (UTC)
- The thing is, that doesn't fix the problem. Many pages link to this page, presumably when they really mean the specific office. For example, the Thomas F. Hall article says that he was "Assistant Secretary of Defense for Reserve Affairs". I'm fixing that now, of course, but there will be many others, no doubt. StAnselm (talk) 19:31, 1 March 2011 (UTC)
