Link to field manuals from Army.Mil (most of them)

Why is this list not more prominent in the article? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.174.115.139 (talk) 06:13, 18 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

People intrested in the manuals

[edit]

It should be noted that survivalists and people who are intrested in survival aswell as (advanturuous) travellers use these manuals for their preparations. Also see following document detailing US experts for having distributed US Field Manuals in the Arabic world : http://peoplesgeography.com/2008/04/21/an-offer-hezbollah-cannot-refuse/

Please include in the Wikipedia article.

Another dead link, claims cannot be verified. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.214.54.45 (talk) 04:02, 6 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

History

[edit]

A history section would be useful. From my reading, field manuals as such were not issued by the US Army until 1939. Prior to that "training regulations" served the purpose, but how far they go back is only conjecture.--Reedmalloy (talk) 15:03, 28 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
